Mission Outreach

Making a Distinct Impact through Service

What is Mission Outreach?

A relationship with God demands justice and right relations among peoples and care for others.  As disciples, Jesus makes service to others the second greatest commandment, and he closely associates it with their basic mission of evangelization: "Your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father" (Matthew 5:16).  Jesus spoke of "the kingdom of God" as a reordering of the world, the reconciliation of creation, and the return to what the creator intended.  The kingdom of God is restoring what God intended from the beginning.

The redemption of creation is the work of Christ; and its restoration is a work we share with him.  Redemption and restoration are two different, though intimately related, exercises. Christ redeems, and in Christ Christians restore.

Mission Outreach is the work of restoration:

  • Outside the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Community
  • In partnership with other organizations
  • Undertaken to love God

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Community has focused its Mission Outreach Activity efforts for the greatest impact.  We cannot do it all, and so have chosen the following partnerships:
