Safe Environment Training

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School strictly adheres to the Diocesan Policy and Procedures for the Protection of Minors.  A copy of this policy is kept at the front desk for parents to view and is also available on the Diocese of Phoenix Safe Environment website.

All volunteers and/or parents who come into contact with minor children must be Safe Environment compliant prior to being accepted for any volunteer list.  All volunteers must complete a two hour Foundation class, in person; pass a  background check, complete a face-to-face interview, and have 3 references checked.  Volunteers will be issued a photo ID badge that must be worn at all times.

Volunteers are required to renew their training annually, after July 1st.  The Safe Environment year runs from July 1st to June 30th.  Please register for a Foundation class or a renewal class on the Safe Environment Training website.

To start the Safe Environment Training process and register for a live class, please refer to the instruction sheet "Initial Live Training Instructions".   When choosing your primary volunteer location online, please choose Our Lady of Perpetual Help "School" - Scottsdale, instead of "Parish".  You will need to sign up for a live class in the Diocese.  Although it doesn't have to be a class at OLPH,  we will be hosting two training classes in August;  Thursday, August 8th at 8:30am and Saturday, August 10th at 9:30am.

To complete your yearly renewal online, please refer to the  instruction sheet  "2019 Annual Online Renewal Training Instructions".   Please follow the instructions on the sheet carefully and use the new username and password that the Diocese has created for you.  You will then create your new password.

Do NOT create a new account.  The Diocese has added a quarterly background check to the Safe Environment process and the site will prompt you to complete the necessary information.

If you have any questions or concerns with Safe Environment Training, please do not hesitate to contact Annie Hoyle in the Health Office 480-874-3723 .
